Biodub is a german musician, producer and DJ. He defines his music as a combination of techno, dub and electronica that is equally comfortable on the dancefloor as in the living room.
During the last years he released music on labels like Ki Records ,Samuvar ltd., KanuKanu, Pronounce and Ornitophter. In 2011 he released his debut album "Reisegefaehrte" that was highly acclaimed by an international audience and was supported by Troy Pierce, Patrick Lindsey, Osunlade, Anton Zap, Nooncat and Pawas, to name just a few.
Biodub founded his first band at the early age of thirteen. Since that time he has regularly performed on stage. Originally a drummer he also learned to play guitar and keyboards over the years. Presently, he is drummer in the instrumentalband “Noetics”(State Of The Art Records), who already played with bands like "The Original Funky Drummers" of James Brown, the pioneers in electronic music "Tangerine Dream", the hippie legends "Ten Years After" or the 90s Downbeat and Dub Highlight "Sofa Surfers".
Since 2000, he is active as DJ. He was spinning records together with DJs like Sven Väth, Ken Ishi and Kit Clayton. Under the alias “path” he is resident-DJ at numerous clubs in his hometown, Hannover, where he supported acts like LTJ Bukem, Eddie Piller (founder of the Acid Jazz label with Giles Peterson), Rainer Trüby and Oliver Korthals (founder of the legendary Mojo Club).
Along with DJ-ing came his desire for producing electronic music.
In his tracks Biodub tries to transform visual impressions into music. He finds most of these impressions in nature but sometimes also in machines or buildings in connection with their environment. Based on a minimalistic foundation, his tracks are playful in a microscopical way. In between deep basslines and characteristic dub chords, various sounds coming from field recording sessions and sometimes also acoustic instruments come up, making his music extremely warm and alive.
Biodubs DJ-sets are eclectic but always coherent through the deepness of all tracks. In the sets aiming on the dancefloor, there is a clear preference for a straight bassdrum between deep basslines and chords. In his more relaxed sets, Biodub loves to combinate different genres like Dubhouse, IDM, Ambient-Techno, Post-Dubstep and Downbeats.
Biodubs live-sets convince the audience with new variations of his own productions and with unpredictable moments of live improvisation.
Biodub - Reisegefaehrte RemixesKi-007
Following the Debut LP on Ki, we’ve put together a few of our favorite artists to remix some tracks of their choice. It was important for us, that the artists kept their individual approach to their genre, so that we could get a very diverse release.
First up is the Japanese producer Stereociti, who just released his debut album on Mojuba Records. He gives the title track „Reisegefaehrte“ his very own deep touch. Second up is our close friend Glitterbug, who seems to create a very own genre with his interpretation of „Barracuda“. On the flipside Stundman goes straight to the dancefloor. Jacking beats and pounding basslines are his „Reminder“. And as if P.Laoss knew what the real deal is, he turned „Subsistence“ into a Fata Morgana trip back to the time when Dub was really „Dub“. Perfect completion of what we expected from this Remix EP.

Biodub - ReisegefaehrteKi-LP01
For the first Album ever being released on Ki we invited Biodub, a producer/DJ from the north of Germany, who impressed us with his fusion of dub, techno, electronica and is a musician throughout. Bringing in his experience as the drummer of instrumentalband Noetics and based on a minimalistic foundation, his tracks are playful in a microscopical way. In between deep basslines and characteristic dub chords, various sounds coming from field recording sessions and sometimes also acoustic instruments, making this piece of music extremely warm and alive.
Biodub tries to transform visual impressions into his music. He finds most of these impressions in nature but sometimes also in machines or buildings in connection with their environment. The album is equally comfortable on the dancefloor as in the living room. But you would rather enjoy his music on an open field in the nature than on your couch.
The Album will be released as a full 2 x12″ LP, Digital and CD in folded hardcover with photography, graphic and layout coming from Ki’s Amélie Kai. There will be a 12″-Single with remixes of Stereociti, Glitterbug, Stundman and P. Laoss.
